About Zalgo Text Generator

About This Zalgo Text Generator

This free tool converts normal text into Zalgo — the iconic "corrupted" style that stacks Unicode combining marks above and below each letter. The output is plain Unicode text you can paste anywhere that supports it.

Three Intensity Levels

Light adds 1–2 combining marks above and below each character — a subtle glitch effect that stays readable.

Medium uses 3–5 above and 2–4 below — a clearly corrupted look while still recognisable.

Heavy stacks 6–10 above and 4–8 below per character — maximum chaos, maximum drama.

Where to Use Zalgo Text

Paste Zalgo text into Discord messages and server names, Reddit posts and comments, X (Twitter), Instagram captions, Tumblr, Facebook posts, and most Unicode-capable text fields.

What is Zalgo text?

Zalgo text is regular text decorated with large numbers of Unicode combining diacritical marks stacked above and below each character. The result looks corrupted, glitchy, or unsettling — as if the text is "bleeding" outside its normal bounds.

Is Zalgo text safe to copy and paste?

Yes. It is standard Unicode text. Some older apps or rendering engines may display it oddly or clip it, but it is not malicious and will not harm any device or app.

Where can I use Zalgo text?

Zalgo text works in any app that renders Unicode: Discord channel names and messages, Reddit, X (Twitter), Instagram captions, Tumblr, Facebook, and most web-based text fields.

What is the difference between Light, Medium, and Heavy?

"Light" adds just 1–2 combining marks above and below each character for a subtle glitch effect. "Medium" uses 3–5 above and 2–4 below for a more pronounced look. "Heavy" stacks 6–10 above and 4–8 below per character for maximum chaos.

Why does the output change when I click Regenerate?

The combining marks are placed randomly. Clicking Regenerate picks a new random seed, shuffling which marks appear on each character while keeping the same intensity level.

Is this tool free?

Yes, completely free with no account required. All generation runs locally in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.
